The Lagos State Police Command has arrested singer and rapper Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable or Dr. Zeh, over his refusal to complete the payment for a G-Wagon he purchased from a car dealer.
The arrest was confirmed by Lagos police command spokesman SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who spoke to Channels.
“Portable was arrested in the Abule Egba area of Lagos on Tuesday,” Hundeyin said.
In another briefing, the police spokesman stated: “He bought a G-Wagon for N27m, paid N13m, and refused to pay the rest, claiming the vehicle was bad. We arrested him today.”
The car dealer also revealed that Portable threatened her when she demanded that he settle the debt.
In a viral video, Portable is seen scaling a gate as policemen approach him with an arrest warrant. In another viral video, he is dragged, handcuffed, and carried by about four policemen into a waiting vehicle.
Portable’s lawyers are expected to appear on Wednesday morning for a discussion that will determine if the singer will be taken to court.
