Police in Nasarawa arrest two suspects wearing army uniform, seize cash and weapons

—

The Nasarawa State Police Command apprehended two individuals suspected of committing robberies in the Ekye Development Area within the Doma Local Government Area.

The police got a report from the people living there, and they took action on Thursday night.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, explained that they received complaints about armed robberies happening every Thursday night on Doma-Rukubi Road in the Ekye community. The robbers were wearing military clothes.

After getting the complaint, police officers from Ekye Division planned a trap for the robbers at Kwanar Kare, a dangerous spot along Doma-Rukubi Road where robbers usually stop people and steal from them.

They caught Abdullahi Basso and Saidu Isah, who were wearing military uniforms, at the scene. The police found three hundred thousand naira in cash, a knife, and other things with them.

The individuals who were arrested by the police in Nasarawa while wearing army uniforms confessed to committing a robbery at the same location the previous week.

They acknowledged that their victim was a person named Mallam Barka. During the robbery, they seized five hundred thousand naira from him.
