Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, PhD, OON, has commended the Federal and Plateau State Governments following the recent disbursement of a ₦1.5 billion relief fund to support victims of violent attacks across the state.
The disbursement ceremony, which took place on Monday, September 21, 2026, was attended by prominent leaders, including the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, and the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.
The ₦1.5 billion intervention comprises ₦1 billion donated by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, through the Renewed Hope Initiative, and a ₦500 million counterpart contribution from the Plateau State Government.
Ahead of the formal disbursement ceremony, Gagdi accompanied the APC National Chairman on a visit to grieving families who lost loved ones in the violence. The delegation also hosted the executive leadership of the City Boy Movement, including its Director-General, national executives and the North-Central Coordinator.
While expressing appreciation for what he described as the compassionate and timely intervention by the Federal Government, Plateau State Government and the First Lady, Gagdi appealed for equity in subsequent phases of humanitarian support.
He urged the Federal and State Governments to extend future relief efforts to victims in Kanam, as well as affected communities in Pankshin and Kanke, noting that the areas had also experienced attacks resulting in loss of lives and livelihoods.

Emphasising the collective grief of the people, Gagdi said, “Our pain knows no boundary. Every victim deserves compassion, every affected community deserves support, and no one should be left behind.”
He concluded by praying for divine intervention, asking God to comfort the bereaved, heal troubled communities and restore lasting peace to Plateau State.
