Peter Okoye Reveals What Happened At His Wedding That Deepened Rift With Jude, Paul

Popular Nigerian singer and dancer, Peter Okoye has addressed claims that his late mother never accepted his wife, Lola, dismissing the narrative while recounting a series of painful family incidents that he said deepened the rift between him and his twin brother, Paul Okoye.

In Part 8B of his ongoing tell-all video series, Peter said his late mother was fond of Lola and even referred to her as our wife before he eventually married her.

He also recalled how Lola supported the family during his mother’s final days, particularly while she was receiving treatment at a hospital in Lagos.

Peter, however, said he was deeply hurt by what he described as Paul’s failure to honour a childhood agreement they had made about naming their first sons after each other.

According to him, the brothers had agreed that each would give his first son the other’s traditional Igbo name.

Peter said he kept his side of the bargain by naming his first son Nonso, in honour of Paul, but claimed Paul did not reciprocate by naming his first son Obuneme, Peter’s Igbo name.

The singer also revisited the controversy surrounding his wedding to Lola, alleging that his elder brother and then-manager, Jude Okoye, deliberately stayed away from the ceremony.

Peter claimed Jude went as far as booking a PSquare show in Ghana a day before his wedding, leaving him to attend the ceremony without the support or preparations he expected from his elder brother.

He further alleged that on the day of his wedding, Jude posted a photograph of himself in a studio with music stars including D’banj and Don Jazzy.

According to Peter, the same personalities later attended his wedding, while Jude, who was both his elder brother and manager at the time, stayed away.

Peter also claimed Jude made a comment online suggesting that the wedding would not have taken place if their mother were still alive.

He said the experience was particularly painful because of the role Jude played in his life and career.

The singer then recounted another incident involving Jude’s wedding to his wife, Ify.

Peter alleged that neither he nor Lola received asoebi for Jude’s wedding, which he interpreted as an indication that they were not invited.

He said he responded by posting a photograph of himself relaxing with friends at his home while Jude’s wedding was taking place.

According to Peter, Paul confronted him days later after returning from the wedding, accusing him of disrespecting their elder brother.

Peter said he told Paul that respect should not be based solely on age, arguing that if age was the standard, Lola was older than Jude and should equally be accorded respect.

He said the response further angered both Paul and Jude.

Peter said the video marked the end of his tell-all series, but disclosed that he would respond to Jude’s latest video in which his elder brother denied allegations that he defrauded him.

The latest revelations add another layer to the long-running dispute among the Okoye brothers, with Peter continuing to offer his account of the events that contributed to the breakdown of the PSquare family and business relationship.
