While showering encomium on his players for their terrific display against Everton last night during their biggest victory of 6-0 this season, the Chelsea manager has expressed his displeasure on the event that occurred when Chelsea was awarded a penalty in the second half.

Despite scoring three goals just before the end of halftime, Cole Palmer, Nicholas Jackson, and Noni Madueke were seen dragging for the ball after the penalty was awarded. It’s obvious that Jackson wanted to step up his goal numbers, having had one already in the game. But Palmer, who was known as the spot-kicker, took it and converted it to a goal for Chelsea.

During his post-match interview, Pochettino described the scene as ‘shameful’ but asserted that the situation has been resolved:

To make it clear, the players, and staff know that the taker on penalties is Cole Palmer. All that happened after is a shame.

We were talking in the dressing room about the image we send in every single country, and we cannot show this type of image.

I want to apologize to our fans. Discipline is the most important thing.”

Cole Palmer, who also spoke about the tussle, said: I’m the penalty taker. I wanted to take it, so I took it.

“Everyone wants to take responsibility.

We ended up laughing and joking about it, but the manager has spoken to us about it now.”

Nicholas Jackson and Gilchrist also registered their names in the 6-0 wrecking on Everton.

Chelsea seized the opportunity to move up to ninth place on 47 points as they keep UEFA Europa League spot qualifications alive.
