Yorubas have never been united politically as one people. Never spoken with one voice. They are easily bought and cowered with money and positions. They have played and continue to play the role of Brutus in Nigeria’s political history. Politically, they are sheep led by bunch of disarray and disunited corrupt politicians (please stop calling them leaders) looking for green and fertile grazing field to fatten their own cows. For those of you who are too young or don’t know your history, Egbe Afenifere was the Yoruba equivalent name given to Action Group (AG) founded by the sage Chief Obafemi…

The irrational vibes coming from the supporters of the controversial suspension of Justice Walter Onnoghen, as the Chief Justice of Nigeria by President Muhammadu Buhari and in his place swore-in Justice Tanko Muhammed as the new Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, clearly validates the widespread belief that people who manipulate public opinion first make accusation against their enemies, repeating them loudly and often with the hope that people will begin to believe them. To shed more light on this piece, I must admit that it’s alright  discussing the corruption allegation against the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), it is equally important that…

The statement was signed by its director and founder, Professor Ishaq Akintola.     This was sequel to the outcome of Tuesday’s meeting of the National Judicial Council (NJC). Yet again, our dear country is passing through a difficult moment. How we react to this challenge in the following days will determine the fate of our democracy, which has been brought to great peril by this needless crisis engineered by a government that is unwilling to subject its conducts to the requirements of our constitution. Meanwhile, I commend all Nigerians and friends of Nigeria who have expressed outrage over the unlawful removal of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, an action, which constitutes a flagrant breach of our constitution and a frontal assault on our democracy.…

Since the return of democratic governance to Nigeria in 1999, President Muhammadu Buhari has broken the record to be the only President who has virtually provided the level ground for democracy to thrive in all ramifications. He commands an unparallel democratic leadership charisma. He has deepened democracy and through performance, he has won the love of Nigerians and the people of the world as a rare gem in democratic institutionalization. For the first time in Nigeria, money politics is becoming obsolete. The borders are very tight against “importation” of hard currency by politicians. Thanks to the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS)…

Why are our politicians like this? Those pushing and campaigning for President Mohammadu Buhari’s second term in office, do they really mean what they are doing or just doing it for the sake of their egoistic interests? How can those still supporting the President’s second term bid in all honesty tell Nigerians why the same Buhari we saw on NTA during the debate in Abuja, also in Warri at the APC rally and, in Lokoja and Kaduna at the various APC rallies, should continue as president?
