OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman Has Been Sacked

Chat GPT Maker, Sam Altman Returns To OpenAI
Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, makers of Chat GPT, DALL-E 3 and GPT-4 has been sacked.
Altman was fired from OpenAI due to what the company described as lack of consistent candor in communications with the board.
His lack of proper communication reportedly hindered jisy ability to fulfill greater responsibilities.
According to a post by OpenAI, the board lost confidence in his leadership.
Greg Brockman, a co-founder like Altman, will also step down as chairman but remains OpenAI’s president.
Mira Murati, the former Chief Technology Officer, will take Altman’s place by becoming the interim CEO while OpenAI plans to search for a permanent CEO soon.
The board now consists of Ilya Sutskever, Adam D’Angelo, Tasha McCauley, and Helen Toner.
The exact reasons behind Altman’s firing remain unclear, possibly linked to issues within OpenAI’s governance structure and ongoing discussions to raise substantial new capital.
Reacting to his sacking, Sam Altman took to X formerly Twitter to write;
“i loved my time at openai. it was transformative for me personally, and hopefully the world a little bit. most of all i loved working with such talented people, will have more to say about what’s next later”.
