The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has thrown down a clarion call to residents, urging them to make resolutions that foster peace, unity, economic revival, and security in the new year.
Speaking in his New Year message, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olugbemiga Ayoade, on Wednesday in Ibadan, Ladoja painted a vision of a harmonious and thriving Ibadan.
He stressed the importance of clinging to unity and the rich cultural heritage of Ibadan as the bedrock for achieving groundbreaking progress across all spheres of life.
“I urge both indigenes and residents to be resolute on the progress and unity of Ibadanland so that we may jointly realise the modern Ibadanland of our dreams.
“As for me, I have resolved to spend the rest of my life serving God and humanity as a good example for others to follow,” he declared.
The traditional ruler also called on all Ibadan traditional title holders to rally behind his vision of steering the city toward greater heights. He highlighted key areas such as enhancing security, urban renewal, curbing land grabbing, reviving dormant companies, and safeguarding Yoruba cultural heritage.
Ladoja lauded security operatives in Ibadanland and across Oyo State for their heightened efforts in protecting lives and property during the festive period, urging them to remain vigilant and not rest on their laurels.
