A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Alhaji Buba Galadima, has claimed that former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso will win the 2027 presidential election if the poll is free, fair and transparent.
Galadima made the assertion while speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he referred to what he described as a recent national poll conducted by one of the presidential candidates.
According to him, the poll showed the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket leading in four of Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
He identified the zones as North Central, South East, South South and South West, while claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu came third and did not lead in any of the six zones.
Galadima, however, raised concerns about the conduct of the 2027 election, alleging that political manoeuvring could influence the outcome.
He also referred to a meeting he said President Tinubu held in France with the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and some prominent Nigerians.
“One of the presidential candidates organised a poll, a national poll recently, and Peter and Kwankwaso came out clearly leading in four zones of the six zones of the country, namely North Central, South East, South South and South West,” Galadima said.
He added that Tinubu “came a distant third, with no zone accredited to him,” while suggesting that the president could still be declared the winner if what he described as “kalokalo” politics was employed.
Galadima’s claims about the poll and the alleged meeting in France were not independently verified in the statement.
