In a statement, Obi congratulated the Nigerian team for reaching the round of 16 and encouraged them to redouble their efforts for a victory.

He maintained that the players are ambassadors of the nation and carry the hopes of the youth.

Obi added that despite the challenges, he is optimistic in Nigeria’s potential and pledged his support for the Super Eagles.

The match between Nigeria and Cameroon will take place at Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny in Abidjan later today.

Both teams have a strong history in the competition, with Nigeria having three titles and Cameroon having five.

Meanwhile, recent encounters have seen Nigeria emerge victorious.

At the end of today’s clash with the Eagles, the winner of the match will advance to the quarterfinals to face the winner of Angola vs Namibia. Both teams are vying to add to their AFCON trophy count, Nigeria is gunning for a fourth title and Cameroon seeking a sixth.
