NYSC prohibits corps members from sharing camp activities on social media

The Director of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yusha’u Ahmed, told the young people in the program not to share what they are doing in camp on social media.

He said they should keep the photos and videos they take during the three weeks of training just for themselves.

He talked to the Batch A Stream 1 corps members at the NYSC Ogun State Permanent Orientation Camp in Sagamu.

He also warned them not to travel unnecessarily, especially without permission, and to take care of themselves.

“You must also be wary of embarking on unnecessary and unauthorised journeys, take personal security seriously.”

Ahmed encouraged the corps members to make the most of their time during their service year.

He said they should always be doing something productive and working towards their goals.

He reminded them not to post anything about their camp activities on social media. He also stressed the importance of being careful about traveling without permission and taking their safety seriously.

Ahmed also suggested that the corps members join the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme to learn skills and start their own businesses.

He mentioned that NYSC is working with different banks and organizations to offer loans and grants to corps members without interest.

The State Coordinator, Olayinka Nasamu, mentioned that the participants have behaved well and adjusted to the disciplined life at camp. The NYSC boss donated cows and money to different groups of corps members.

Other people with the NYSC boss were Mrs. Bona Fasakin, who is in charge of special duties, and Mr. Edwin Megwa, who handles press and public relations.

The NYSC program is a year-long program that begins with a three-week orientation course. It’s mandatory for all Nigerian graduates who are selected for national service.
