Popular Nollywood actor, Zubby Michael, has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency in Anambra State.
The actor made the announcement on Saturday in his hometown, Ozubulu Ward 5, Ekwusigo Local Government Area, shortly after picking up his ADC membership form, The News Chronicle gathered.
Zubby’s move comes amid earlier reports linking him to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, raising eyebrows over his political alignment.
His entry into partisan politics also contrasts with a growing wave of South-East celebrities gravitating towards the APC under the “City Boys Movement” to rally support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
With his strong fan base and grassroots appeal, Zubby Michael’s switch to the ADC is expected to shake up the political landscape in Anambra, potentially reshaping calculations ahead of the 2027 polls.
