Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has fired back at critics pushing for his expulsion from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring that no faction can drive him out of a party he helped build from day one.
Speaking at a weekend meeting with members of the PDP Board of Trustees and National Executive Council, led by Acting National Chairman Abdulrahman Mohammed, Wike dismissed the expulsion notice issued by camps loyal to Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.
Wike accused the governors’ factions of attempting to “k!ll the party,” insisting he would not allow “latecomers” to rewrite the party’s history or sideline its foundational members.
“How can those who met me in my house now drag me out?” Wike said. “Ask Bala Mohammed which party he contested under as a senator. Our party has always allowed newcomers to rise, but now they think they can chase away those who made sacrifices from inception. If others tolerated it before, we will not.”
He urged stakeholders to stand firm, insisting that those working against the party’s interest are “on their way out.”
The meeting was attended by former Abia State governor Okezie Ikpeazu, former Deputy Speaker Uche Nwuche, Acting PDP National Chairman Abdulrahman Mohammed, National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, and several BoT members from across the country and the FCT.
