NIMC Rolls Out Online Pre-Enrolment Platform for NIN Registration

In a bid to enhance efficiency and accessibility, the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) is set to launch a pre-enrolment platform for obtaining the National Identity Number (NIN).
The Director-General, Abisoye Coker-Odusote, underlined the significance of accurate data in alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s Eight Point Agenda.
The upcoming platform facilitates online data input, eliminating the need for physical visits to NIMC offices and addressing concerns of extortion during registration.
The self-service tool aims to provide citizens with a convenient online avenue to modify and enroll for NIN.
With a target to go live before the end of March, the platform aims to streamline the registration process.
NIMC has already registered 104 million individuals, demonstrating progress in delivering NIN to citizens domestically and abroad.
Given the NIN’s vital role in accessing government services and preventing fraud in subsidy and benefit distribution, the Director-General emphasized the need for a comprehensive identity management system.
This includes ongoing efforts to integrate with various government agencies, such as MDAs, NYSC, FRSC, FIRS, and credit facilities coordination.
As part of NIMC’s five-point agenda, a leadership retreat is underway, focusing on enhancing staff capabilities in critical areas like leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic planning.
The retreat not only seeks to empower participants with essential leadership tools but also fosters a sense of community among NIMC staff, emphasizing the profound impact of their work on millions of lives and the integrity of Nigeria’s national identity data.
