Nigerian government responds to Super Eagles’ 1-0 victory against Angola

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Super Eagles of Nigeria for securing a triumphant victory over Angola on Friday evening in Cote d’Ivoire. 

This expression of joy and support was conveyed through an official statement, the signatory being Rabiu Ibrahim, the Special Assistant to the minister.

In light of the Super Eagles’ impressive 1-0 triumph, which secures Nigeria’s place in the semifinals of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations, Minister Idris highlighted the promising path toward clinching Nigeria’s fourth AFCON trophy.

He praised the commendable fighting spirit exhibited by the Super Eagles, characterizing their performance as a gladiatorial display that has brought joy to the hearts of Nigerians globally.

Idris, in his commendation, expressed optimism about future victories for the Super Eagles, foreseeing a series of outstanding performances in the upcoming matches leading to a fitting triumph in the AFCON finals.

The minister passionately called upon the citizens of Nigeria to steadfastly uphold their unyielding support for the national football team, the Super Eagles.
