Nigerian club, FC ONE Rocket encounters robbery attack

Nigerian National League side FC ONE Rocket suffered a Robbery Attack in Ihiala, Anambra State while returning from Lagos where they faced Ikorodu FC in a league game. The club on their official Facebook page asserted that no injuries and casualties were recorded, but players’ mobile phones and valuables were collected during the robbery.

“Thankfully, no threat to life or injuries were recorded as the attackers fled when bright lights from moving vehicles towards the location of the ugly incident scared the robbers away, thereby halting the operation.

Undeterred by the attack along the Onitsha-Owerri Road, the contingent continued its journey and arrived in Uyo the same night.

Describing the situation as unfortunate, General Manager, Ubong Essien says the Indomitables are determined to shake off the setback and continue preparation for their upcoming league games.”

The Rockets lost the game by 2-0 to Ikorodu FC on Saturday, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.
