Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have successfully foiled an attempted attack by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Buratai, Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.
The incident occurred on Sunday, April 26, 2026, when the insurgents attempted to infiltrate the area. According to military sources, the troops detected the movement of the attackers early and swiftly engaged them in a fierce gun battle.
The superior firepower of the soldiers forced the terrorists to retreat, leaving behind casualties and equipment. Two of the insurgents were neutralized during the encounter, while a motorcycle used by the group was destroyed.
Additionally, troops recovered ammunition from the scene of the clash.
No casualties were recorded among the soldiers, and military operations are ongoing to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
Operation HADIN KAI continues its counter-insurgency efforts across the North-East, maintaining pressure on terrorist groups in the region.
