Nigerian Army Begins DSSC 29/2026 Officer Recruitment Nationwide

The Nigerian Army has opened applications for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026, inviting qualified Nigerians to enlist as commissioned officers.

In a statement, the Army said the programme is open to civilians and serving military personnel who meet the stipulated requirements.

According to the statement, successful candidates will be commissioned into selected professional corps.

The corps available include the Nigerian Army Engineers, Nigerian Army Signals, Nigerian Army Medical Corps, Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, and the Nigerian Army Education Corps.

The Army stressed that the application is free of charge and strictly online. Interested applicants are to apply via the official recruitment portal between January 7 and February 4, 2026.

The Nigerian Army urged eligible Nigerians to seize the opportunity and warned against fraudsters, reiterating that no payment is required at any stage of the DSSC application process.
