Troops from the 115 Task Force Battalion stationed in Askira Uba, Borno state, have apprehended an individual suspected of having ties to the Boko Haram terrorist group.Â

The suspect, identified as Muhammed Jibrin, was reportedly captured during routine cordon and search operations conducted by the troops within the Askira Uba community.
According to Zagazola Makama, a publication specializing in the Lake Chad region, all residents of the community were cooperative during the search operations, except for the apprehended suspect, who attempted to conceal himself.
Reports indicate that the suspect has been transferred to the military intelligence unit for further investigation.
This development follows recent military actions in the region, including a raid on a purported stronghold of both the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) and Boko Haram in the Sambisa forest, where eight militants were reportedly killed by Nigerian Army troops.
The significance of such operations underscores the ongoing efforts of the Nigerian military to combat insurgency and terrorism in the region, particularly in areas where groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP have been known to operate.
