The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has graduated 459 Regiment personnel comprising 10 officers and 449 airmen and airwomen following specialized training at the Regiment Training Centre in Kaduna.
The graduation ceremony, held on September 4, 2026, is part of efforts by the Service to strengthen its force protection capability and develop personnel equipped to respond to emerging national security challenges.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, represented by the Chief of Training, Headquarters NAF, Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Dari, stressed the importance of effective force protection in sustaining airpower projection and safeguarding critical Service and national assets.
Aneke reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to deliberate training and mission-oriented force development aimed at producing agile, resilient and combat-ready personnel.
He noted that the enhanced capabilities of the newly trained personnel would support ongoing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations, while improving the protection of critical military and national infrastructure.
The Chief of the Air Staff also charged the graduates to uphold discipline, courage, teamwork and vigilance as they return to their respective units.
The Commandant of the Regiment Training Centre, Air Vice Marshal Isaac Subi, expressed confidence that the training would improve the personnel’s contributions to operational effectiveness.
He further reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to providing quality and professional military training to personnel of the Nigerian Air Force.
The graduation marks another step in the NAF’s efforts to build a more capable, responsive and resilient force committed to safeguarding lives and supporting national security.
