Nigerian Air Force Kills Top ISWAP Commander in Borno Airstrike

The Nigerian Air Force has killed Abu Sale, a key commander of the Islamic State for West Africa Province (ISWAP), during an airstrike on the group’s camp in Jubillaram, Marte Local Government Area of Borno State.

Counter-insurgency and security expert Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a post on his X platform on Monday.

The operation, based on credible intelligence, also neutralized scores of ISWAP fighters and disrupted their activities in the region.

Abu Sale had been overseeing plans for a major offensive involving 150 ISWAP fighters, coordinated with other top commanders.

The airstrike delivered a significant blow to ISWAP’s operations in the Lake Chad area.
