The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has voiced strong optimism that Nigeria will triumph over its current difficulties, drawing parallels with the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In his Easter message addressed to residents of Lagos, Obasa stressed that the nation’s struggles are not insurmountable. The statement, released through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Dave Agboola, highlighted the importance of unity, faith, and perseverance among citizens.
According to the speaker, Nigeria’s ability to overcome its economic and security challenges lies in the collective resolve of its people to remain steadfast and prayerful.
“As a nation, we face economic pressures and security concerns, but the resurrection teaches us that no situation is beyond redemption.
“Let us roll away the stones of division and despair, and work together for peace, justice, and prosperity,” the speaker said.
He extended warm Easter greetings to Nigerians, particularly Christians, urging them to embody love, tolerance, and mutual understanding in their daily lives.
“Easter is a season of hope and renewal.
“Christians should draw strength from the lessons in Jesus Christ’s resurrection,” Obasa, who represents Agege 1 in the assembly, said.
Describing Easter as a symbol of victory over adversity and light conquering darkness, Obasa called on residents to continue demonstrating compassion and solidarity.
He emphasized that only through shared commitment and collective action can Lagos State grow stronger and Nigeria achieve lasting progress.
The speaker also offered prayers for renewed faith among citizens, expressing hope that the spirit of Easter would inspire both leaders and the governed toward a more promising future.
