Bayero University Kano (BUK) has announced the passing of Hajiya Hadiza Attahiru Jega, wife of former Vice-Chancellor of the institution and former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jega.
The university disclosed the development in a statement shared on its official social media page on Sunday, confirming “the passing of Hajiya Hadiza Attahiru Jega.”
While the cause of death was not revealed, BUK extended its condolences to the bereaved family and offered prayers for the deceased.
According to the statement, her Janazah prayer is scheduled to take place immediately after Zuhr prayer at the National Mosque on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
The university prayed that Allah forgives her shortcomings and grants her eternal rest.
