Nigeria Police Declare Opposition to ‘No Gree for Anybody’ Slogan

Nigeria Police Force has expressed opposition to the use of the viral 2024 slogan ‘no gree for anybody’ due to concerns about potential violence against police officers.

The Force spokesperson, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, warned against the use of the slogan during a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, citing the need to avoid attacks on security operatives while they are performing their duties.

Facing criticisms after it passed its verdict against the use of ‘no gree for anybody,’ the Force spokesperson explained in a tweet on his official X handle on Thursday night, that the “Police are in the best position to advise and educate Nigerians on possible early warning signs of an impending danger as a civil and people-oriented institution.”

Their concern was that the slogan might be misused to incite violence or aggression against law enforcement officers.

He reinforced the idea that the slogan should not be taken for granted, should not be abused, and should not be used as a means to attack security operatives.

He further stated that Nigerians should, “Be reasonable with the slogan, sue for, and embrace peace anywhere you find yourself, even at home. It is well with our dear country.”
