Nigeria Customs Intercepts Arms and Ammunition Worth N2 Billion from Turkey

The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adeniyi, on Monday, announced the interception of a large cache of arms and ammunition from Turkey, 

The interception took place at the Onne Ports in Rivers State, where the contraband was found in a 40-foot container.

During a press conference at the Nigerian Customs Service, Area 2 Command in Onne, Adeniyi detailed the seizure.

The intercepted weapons have an estimated value of over N2 billion. In addition to the arms and ammunition, the customs officials also seized drugs worth more than N2 billion.

Adeniyi emphasized the importance of this operation in preventing the influx of illegal weapons and drugs into the country, underscoring the ongoing efforts of the Nigeria Customs Service to combat smuggling and enhance national security.
