Nigeria and Egypt Explore Deeper Aviation Ties at El Alamein Airshow

Nigeria and Egypt have moved to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the aviation sector following high-level discussions on the sidelines of the ongoing El Alamein International Airshow.

The meeting brought together Nigerian aviation officials and Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation, Dr Sameh El-Hefny, to discuss ways of expanding cooperation, addressing shared interests and improving air transport development between both countries.

During the meeting, Nigeria requested that EgyptAir deploy newer aircraft on its routes to Nigeria, particularly services connecting Abuja and Lagos.

The engagement forms part of Nigeria’s broader efforts to deepen international aviation partnerships and improve infrastructure, operational efficiency and service delivery in the sector.

The renewed cooperation is expected to enhance the quality of air services and strengthen the operational framework for passengers and airlines travelling along the Nigeria-Egypt corridor.
