NFF Visits Tijjani Babangida Ex-Super Eagles Star Injured in Crash

The Members of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) showed their support by paying a condolence visit to Tijani Babangida, the former Super Eagles and Ajax star, who was involved in a tragic car accident recently.
Led by President Ibrahim Gusau, the NFF delegation visited Babangida at an Abuja hospital where he is recuperating from injuries sustained in the accident, on Sunday, May 12, 2024
Despite the accident occurring along the Kaduna-Zaria road in Kaduna State, Babangida, who is also the President of the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN), was transferred to Abuja for surgery, which he has already undergone.
The entire football community, represented by the country’s football governing body, mourns with Babangida, who tragically lost his younger brother and one-year-old son in the accident.
His wife, who was also involved, underwent facial surgery to address her injuries and remains under intensive care at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in Zaria.
In addition to President Gusau, the NFF delegation included General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, NFF Executive member Timothy Magaji, and NFF technical director Augustine Eguavoen.
They were joined by other prominent figures from the Nigerian football scene, including NPFL board member Jude Anyadufu, former Nigeria international and Chairman of the Bauchi State Football Association Pascal Patrick, former Nigeria goalkeeper Emmanuel Babayaro, former Nigeria international Austin Popo, respected football stakeholder Alhaji Abubakar Danfulani, and former Nigeria international and special assistant to the NFF President, Mallam Nasiru Jibril.
Together, they offered their heartfelt condolences and support to Babangida and his family during this difficult time.
