—

The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has given 60 young people from the North Eastern states of Nigeria – Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Gombe, Bauchi, and Taraba – an opportunity to start their careers.

These youths were chosen to undergo training at the Mainstream Academy in Kainji. The training, which lasted for three months, focused on teaching essential skills needed for working with high-power lines and electrical installations.

After completing the training, the participants are now qualified linesmen and electronic technicians.

To help them kickstart their careers, the NEDC provided each of them with N250,000 as seed money.

This financial support is part of the commission’s efforts to create job opportunities for young people in the North-East region.

Mohamed Alkali, the Managing Director of NEDC, emphasized the importance of discipline and professionalism as the graduates transition into their new roles.

He assured them that the commission would continue to support them as they embark on this new chapter of their lives.

One of the beneficiaries, Mohammed Gambo, expressed gratitude to the NEDC for sponsoring their training.

He highlighted the positive impact it would have on their lives and the development of the North-East region.

this initiative by the NEDC aims to empower youths by providing them with the necessary skills and resources to thrive in the workforce and contribute to the socio-economic progress of their communities.
