Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho lead Leicester City to the Championship Title

—

Leicester City has been crowned the winner of the Sky Bet Championship title following a 3-0 triumphant victory over Preston last night.

Leicester City becomes the team with the most Skybet Championship titles (8) having won it previously in 1925, 1937, 1954, 1957, 1971, 1980, and 2014.

The Foxes’ promotion to the English top-tier league was guaranteed last week after Leeds United’s defeat at Queens Park Rangers followed Leicester’s 5-0 home success over Southampton.

Jamie Vardy’s brace, one in each half, takes his 2023/24 tally up to 20 goals, while Kasey McAteer’s header made sure on a vintage night for the visitors.

The Nigerian duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho have been pivotal for the club since they were relegated last season. Regardless of the injuries both encountered that had a negative impact on their availability for the 2024 AFCON, they still added a quota to the team’s progress back to the Premier League.
