NCPC Secretary Warns Against Protest Hijacking, Calls for Prayers and Dialogue

—

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has issued a cautionary statement to those planning to protest against bad governance in Nigeria.

Speaking to Reporters in Abuja on Wednesday, Bishop Adegbite advised that the protest, if it proceeds, should not be hijacked by hoodlums.

Bishop Adegbite highlighted the painful memories of the ENDSARS protests in Lagos, which remain fresh in the minds of many Nigerians.

He urged the youth to reconsider holding the protest and emphasized the importance of maintaining control to prevent it from being taken over by disruptive elements.

He stressed the urgent need for prayers in Nigeria, noting that the country is facing significant challenges that require divine intervention.

Bishop Adegbite expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, describing him as a compassionate and generous leader who has the people’s best interests at heart.

He emphasized that President Tinubu does not wish to see any Nigerian lose their life for any reason.

The NCPC Executive Secretary also noted that the issues facing Nigeria are part of a broader global phenomenon.

He called for dialogue and peaceful resolutions, asserting that the country cannot afford to descend into anarchy.

He emphasized that part of his role as the Executive Secretary of NCPC is to promote peace among Nigerians.

Looking forward, Bishop Adegbite announced that from August to December this year, Nigerians would witness the glory of God.

He revealed that the Commission is preparing for a combined pilgrimage exercise, which will run from September 2023 to February 2024.

This exercise will merge the Easter and Main Pilgrimage, and Bishop Adegbite assured that it would be a significant success.
