National Assembly Convenes Kaduna Summit on Tackling Challenges in North-West Region

Stakeholders and government officials from across Nigeria’s North-West zone have continued to express optimism about overcoming the persistent challenges facing the region.
In line with this, the National Assembly  organised a stakeholders’ summit in Kaduna to deliberate on strategies for addressing development challenges through the activities of the North-West Development Commission.
The summit was jointly organised by the Senate Committee and the House of Representatives Committee overseeing the North-West Development Commission.
Experts and key stakeholders were invited to present papers on the major socio-economic and security challenges confronting the region, as well as practical solutions for sustainable development.
Presenters at the forum highlighted issues such as insecurity, poverty, infrastructure deficits and youth unemployment, while proposing policy-driven and community-based approaches to address the problems.
The lawmakers reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that the North-West Development Commission effectively delivers on its mandate of promoting peace, development and economic growth across the zone.
