Nasarawa: Clerics Offer Prayers For Sule Ahead Of S’ Court Judgment 

Religious leaders in Nasarawa State and beyond have converged to pray for Governor Abdullahi Sule’s victory at the Supreme Court. 

According to the clerics, Governor Sule has accomplished unprecedented achievements in his first term hence the need to support him so he can continue delivering progress and development.

In an event tagged, ‘3-Day Inter-Faith Prayers For The Success Of Governor Abdullahi Sule’, saw Christian and Islamic clerics from various denominations and groups who came together to pray for the victory of the governor at the supreme court.

The prayer session which commenced on Friday, January 12, 2024 in Abuja, will be leading up to the Supreme Court’s hearing on the gubernatorial election dispute which has been slated for January 16, 2024.

Speaking at the event, Converner of the prayer session Danjuma Tanze stated that they are hoping that through their prayers, God will restore and perfect Governor Sule’s victory in order for him to continue serving the people of Nasarawa State.

“It’s about time we put behind us this needless legal tussle that has persisted. We are fervent in prayers for God to restore the victory of a good man who has governed Nasarawa State with the fear of God and intergrity”. Tanze added.

While quoting the Sunnah in thanksgiving to Allah for choosing a righteous man as governor of Nasarawa State, Imam Hussain Ali stated that leadership comes from Allah and it is Him who chooses his servants to lead the people.

The Islamic Cleric added that Allah will therefore not allow mere mortals to tamper with His divine will and purpose for the governor and the State.

On his part, Prophet Amos Akwashiki of the Lord’s Brethren Prophetic Ministry maintained that God has perfected Governor’s Sule victory in the spirit realm and that there’s nothing anyone can do about it.

“God who started it has concluded it in praise”. He affirmed.

In the gathering, various religious leaders pledged their believe in God’s divine will and purpose for Governor Sule’s leadership, stating that no human can hinder it.

Recall that Governor Sule was initially declared the winner of the 2023 poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), then faced a reversal of the victory in favor of David Ombugadu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the Tribunal.

Dissatisfied with the Tribunal judgement, Sule approached the Court of Appeal which later set aside the Tribunal’s judgment and affirmed him the rightful winner.

Meanwhile an appeal filed by Dr David Emmanuel Ombugadu against Governor Abdullahi Sule is scheduled to heard at the Supreme Court on January 16.
