The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of two newly acquired H125 helicopters from Airbus Helicopters as part of efforts to strengthen its rotary-wing capabilities.
The formal acceptance ceremony was held on October 2, 2026, at the 355 Rotary Wing, Ikeja, Lagos, where the Aircraft Acceptance Documents were signed.
The documents were signed by the Commander, 643 Equipment Supply Depot, Air Commodore E. Akintunde, on behalf of the Chief of Logistics, Headquarters NAF, alongside a senior representative of Airbus Helicopters.

The two helicopters were reassembled in-house with technical support from Airbus Helicopters before being formally accepted into the NAF fleet.
According to the Air Force, the acquisition will provide additional capacity and enhance its ability to deliver responsive air support whenever and wherever required.
The process, it said, also demonstrates the NAF’s commitment to internationally recognised best practices in aircraft acquisition and fleet management.
The development further underscores the service’s focus on professional standards, operational integrity and capability development as it continues to strengthen its airpower projection capacity.
