Speaking during the visit, Fintiri expressed delight at returning to the academic environment where, according to him, he was intellectually and professionally moulded into the person he is today.

The governor appreciated his former lecturers for their contributions to his education and personal development, while urging current students to remain committed to their studies and make effective use of the opportunities available to them.
Responding to a request from the Head of the Department on the need to sustain its Starlink subscription and provide a reliable power supply, Fintiri announced a donation of N150 million to support the department.
He further donated N20 million to the Students’ Union of the Department of History, bringing the total value of his donations during the visit to N170 million.
