My 30th Wedding: Fans Praise Bimbo Ademoye, Question Ending

—

Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye released her romantic comedy “My 30th Wedding” on her YouTube channel, Bimbo Ademoye TV, on Thursday, October 1, 2026, and it has drawn praise and criticism from viewers.

A YouTube listing showed about 2.9 million views 14 hours after the upload. Viewers praised her chemistry with co-star Timini Egbuson and criticized the ending.

Prior to the release, a controversy emerged on Wednesday, September 30, after Bimbo Ademoye and Timini Egbuson posted what appeared to be pre-wedding photos. Many fans believed the two had married in secret after working together on several romantic films.

The same day, however, they said in a joint Instagram post that the photos were only to promote the film. Bimbo Ademoye described the film as “one of the most beautiful feel-good love movies ever made.”

The film follows a woman who faces pressure about love and marriage as she approaches a major milestone. She carries personal fears and past heartbreaks into a serious relationship. She and her partner then grapple with class differences and their own flaws, testing whether their love can survive the weeks before the wedding.

Besides Ademoye and Egbuson, the cast includes Bryan Okoye, known as Bryan Boomba, Abiola Kareem, and Kamo State, who appears as a guest.

Bimbo Ademoye won Best Actress in a comedy TV series at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards for her role in “Selina.”

Viewers posted their views on X within hours of the release. Most praised the lead pair. One user said her cheeks hurt from smiling through the film. Another wrote that the actors should “look within” because of their on-screen chemistry. Film commentator Esosa Adun said she watched with a critical eye and still listed 10 things she loved about it.

Other viewers disliked the ending. A user known as Big Uncle wrote, “Don’t ignore the red flag.” He argued that the groom will always choose his daughter over the bride. Another viewer found the ending rushed and said it was unrealistic for the parents to meet the groom on the wedding day.
