Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta Platforms, introduced some cool new gadgets at the recent Meta Connect Conference.
Smart Glasses and Virtual Reality
One of the highlights is a pair of smart glasses, kind of like sunglasses, made in collaboration with Ray-Ban. They have a special helper inside called “Meta AI.” These glasses can even show what you’re looking at on Facebook and Instagram. They’ll cost around $299 and will be available starting October 17.
There’s also an updated virtual reality headset called Quest 3, which lets you experience virtual worlds. You can get your hands on it starting October 10, and it starts at $500.
Amazing AI Chatbot
Meta is introducing an AI chatbot called “Meta AI.” It can talk with you using text and even create pictures. In the future, it will be able to tell you what it sees and translate languages. They used some very smart technology from a company called Microsoft Bing to make it work.
Privacy Matters
Meta is being careful with your private information. They won’t make pictures of famous people using this AI, and they’re not using personal info from places like LinkedIn.
Create Your Own AI Bots
Meta wants to let everyone make their own AI helpers. These helpers will have profiles on Facebook and Instagram and can even be in a thing called “the metaverse.”
No Rush to Make Money
Meta isn’t trying to make money from these AI products right away. They’re more interested in helping others create cool stuff with their technology.

If you love video games, you’ll be happy to know that Xbox games are coming to the Quest headset in December.
