Medical staff in Bauchi arrested for attempted murder of couple

The Bauchi State Police Command caught a man named Mustapha Tahiti, aged 35, who works at the Maternity Clinic in Kofar Ran, Bauchi town.

He tried to harm his cousin and the cousin’s wife by using a dangerous substance. The police arrested Tahiti on March 6, 2024, after getting information from the State Intelligence Department (SID).

According to SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Tahiti was caught while planning to carry out his harmful plan.

Tahiti admitted to his plan during questioning. He confessed to filling a syringe with insecticide that he bought to inject the victims forcefully. Tahiti also planned to steal from the couple after their death.

The police found the syringe that Tahiti intended to use as evidence. They also discovered that Tahiti had a grudge against the victim for marrying his late elder brother’s wife, whom Tahiti wanted to marry. However, the widow didn’t want to marry him.

Tahiti had warned the victim many times not to marry the widow, but the victim didn’t listen.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Mohammed, has instructed that Tahiti must face trial in court once the investigation is finished.

He promised the people of Bauchi State that he is committed to making the state safer by reducing crime.

The situation where medical staff in Nigeria are being accused of killing innocent people is causing a lot of concern.

People are worried because this is happening too often. It’s a serious problem because it goes against the purpose of medical care, which is to help people get better, not harm them.

This issue needs to be addressed urgently because it affects the trust people have in the healthcare system and can lead to fear and uncertainty among patients and their families.
