Marca, a sports publication magazine, has recognized and honoured Lionel Messi as the greatest football player of all time, being the player with the most titles in football history, totaling an astonishing 46 trophies.
According to Marca, the event celebrated Messi’s continued impact on the world of football, especially after his success with Inter Miami, which saw him earn 56 individual records and 46 collective records, resulting in an impressive total of 102 honours, solidifying his status as the greatest of all time.
Messi’s illustrious career began with a breakout at Barcelona in 2004, where he spent a significant part of his playing career winning multiple awards and titles. He then moved to PSG, where he had an impactful short stint, and later to Inter Miami, where he won major trophies. With Argentina, he has secured four major titles since 2022, including a World Cup and two Copa América titles.
As the most recent Ballon d’Or winner, he became the player with the most Ballon d’Or titles (8) in the history of football.
