Man murders court clerk dispatched to deliver summons to him

In Adamawa State, a man named Linus Dimas, residing in Kugama Wuro Jibir, Mayo Belwa Local Government Area, has been apprehended by the Adamawa State Police Command. 

The arrest follows the alleged murder of a court clerk who was attempting to serve him a court summons. The suspect, aged 43, reportedly refused the summons on December 18, 2023, and proceeded to attack Yauba Usman, the court clerk from Nasarawo Jereng Area Court, with a knife, causing severe injuries.

Tragically, the assaulted clerk was swiftly taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead due to the inflicted wounds.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, conveyed this information in a statement released on Tuesday evening.

The statement emphasized that the Commissioner of Police has instructed a discreet investigation into the matter.

The diligent efforts of the police are currently underway as they strive to unravel the intricate details surrounding this unfortunate incident, aiming to secure justice for the court clerk who lost his life.
