Kwara State governor appoints a recent NYSC graduate as commissioner

Governor Abdul Rahman Abdulrazak of Kwara State has appointed a young lady, Miss Musa Nafisat Buge, who recently completed the mandatory National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), as a commissioner designate.

Miss Nafisat, a native of Ilorin in the Ilorin West Local Government Area of the state, awaits confirmation from the Lawara State House of Assembly.

The announcement of Miss Nafisat’s appointment was conveyed in an appreciation letter from the Kwara State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Olaoluwa Onifade, to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazak on Monday, December 19th, 2023.

Mr. Onifade expressed gratitude to the governor for deeming Miss Nafisat qualified for a role in the executive council of Kwara State.

In his letter, Mr. Onifade stated, “I wish to extend my sincere appreciation to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, for nominating one of our NYSC ambassadors, Miss Musa Nafisat Buge, who has just completed the mandatory one-year service to the nation in Ilorin West Local Government, as Commissioner-designate.”

Mr. Onifade emphasized that Governor Abdulrazak’s decision to select the youthful Miss Nafisat for a commissioner position reflects the governor’s commitment to empowering the youth.

He further highlighted the governor’s ongoing support for the NYSC and the youth, citing it as an exemplary demonstration of youth-friendly leadership.

Mr. Onifade commended Governor Abdulrazak for setting a noteworthy example of leadership that prioritizes and encourages the active participation of the youth in the state.

Residents of Kwara have expressed appreciation for the Governor’s efforts and are encouraging other leaders to involve young people, particularly women, in politics to uphold a balanced representation in Nigerian politics.

They commend the Governor for his initiatives and advocate for broader engagement of youth and women to ensure a more inclusive political landscape in Nigeria.
