MainOne predicts internet disruptions will continue for three weeks

Internet and technology businesses all over the country might have trouble for about three more weeks.

This trouble started because a cable under the sea got cut near Cote D’Ivoire in West Africa. This cut happened last Thursday and has made it hard for businesses to work properly.

The businesses most affected are those that rely on the internet a lot, like phone companies, banks, and publishing companies.

MainOne, one of the companies that manages the undersea cables, said that it could take two to three weeks to fix the problem.

They explained that they need to send a ship to get the parts needed to repair the cable. Skilled workers will then fix the cable and put it back in the ocean.

The company said that usually, problems like this happen because of things like fishing or earthquakes.

But they ruled out these causes in this case. They think the cable got broken because of something happening deep under the ocean.

Because of this problem, many people are having trouble with their internet and phone services.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) said that companies are trying hard to fix the problem as quickly as possible.

But for now, many people are still facing issues with their phones and internet. Some banks are telling their customers to use other ways to do their banking, like mobile apps, because the regular services are not working well.
