Madrid Defeats Dortmund to Lift its 15th UEFA Champions League Title

Despite Dortmund’s resilience in the first half, Madrid returned with two late goals in the second half to be crowned champions again.

First half: The first half created an unusual atmosphere at Wembley Stadium, London, as Borussia Dortmund proved they could match Los Blancos’ prowess in today’s final. Despite the first 45 minutes ending in a scoreless draw, Dortmund showed more hunger for goals than Real Madrid. Adeyemi’s missed one-on-one chances against Courtois early on should have given Dortmund a first-half lead.

Second half: The second half started similarly to the first, until Dani Carvajal’s header opened the scoring for Madrid in the 73rd minute. To completely dash Dortmund’s chances, Vinicius Jr. added Madrid’s second in the 82nd minute.
