LETI Trains LASPA Officials On Professionalism

Lagos State Law Enforcement Training Institute (LETI) has concluded a comprehensive two-day training programme for officers of the Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) to ensure orderliness and efficiency in the State’s parking system.

The training aimed to equip the officers with essential local intelligence and critical thinking skills crucial for effective law enforcement in communities across Lagos State.
The Head of LETI, Mrs. Abiola Adeyinka, while speaking on the essence of the training, underscored the complexity of law enforcement and the importance of adequately training officers to carry out their duties with professionalism and respect for citizens’ rights.
She emphasised the need for collaboration among LASPA officers and other law enforcement agencies in the State to ensure world-class service delivery that will position Lagos State as a model of 21st-century law enforcement.
During the training sessions,  participants from LASPA were instructed on the significance of professionalism and courtesy while executing enforcement orders.
Adeyinka emphasised the necessity of proper communication with individuals who have violated regulations, stressing that government officials must uphold conduct that commands respect from the public.
She urged enforcement officials of LASPA to always follow lawful procedures, including formal documentation of warnings and communications with offending organisations.
The LETI Boss restated the Vision Statement of the Institute in promoting excellence in the conduct and knowledge of Lagos State Law Enforcement Officers through quality training and the development of professional standards.
According to her, by emphasising ethics, professional standards, and tactical proficiency, LETI aims to uphold the highest standards of law enforcement across Lagos State.
The training covered a wide range of topics, including traffic management, effective communication, conflict resolution, and the legal framework governing parking regulations. Participants engaged in interactive sessions, practical exercises, and simulations, fostering a deeper understanding of their responsibilities and best practices.
