A 20-year old lady has been allegedly gang-raped by four young men, who also recorded their action and posted same on Facebook.
It was gathered that the suspects identified as Ibe Obinna, 19, Sheu Robiu,19, Olorunlayo Emmanuel, 18 and Adebanjo Ayomide, 20, were traced and arrested by operatives of the Nigerian Police.
The incident occurred at Jagunmolu Street, Bariga area of Lagos, where they reside.
Reports say, the suspects lured the victim to an apartment, forced her undress her clothes including her under wears and eventually took turns to engage her in sex romp.
It was also said that while the suspects were engaging her in the act, one of them, Ibe Obinna, brought out his mobile phone and recorded their actions.
A situation that traumatized the victim after the recorded video was leaked on Facebook.
The victim who was said to have confirmed the release of the video, informed her parents about what transpired.
Meanwhile, the matter has since been reported to the Bariga Division of the Nigerian Police.
The suspects were apprehended and consequently charged before the Yaba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
However, the Court did not take their plea when they were arraigned after the prosecutor, Supol Thomas Nurudeen, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the severity of the alleged offense.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. P. Nwaka, ordered their remand in custody at the correctional center pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
Meantime, the matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
