The Kano State Government has approved the appointment of 19 new permanent secretaries and redeployed 14 serving permanent secretaries in a major reshuffle across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
The State Head of Civil Service, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu-Maimota, announced the appointments in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Director of Public Enlightenment in the Office of the Head of Civil Service, Rukayya Uba-Sulaiman.
According to the statement, the appointments mark a call to greater responsibility and selfless service to the people of Kano State.
The government directed all newly appointed and redeployed permanent secretaries to work closely with their respective MDAs to advance the administration’s development agenda and improve public service delivery.
Shehu-Maimota urged the officials to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, professionalism, integrity and accountability.
She expressed confidence in their ability to justify the trust reposed in them by upholding the core values of the Kano State Civil Service through excellence, transparency and innovation.
The statement added that the appointments and redeployments take immediate effect, with all handing-over and taking-over processes expected to be completed on or before August 12.
