The Kaduna State Government says it is fully prepared to host President Bola Tinubu for the inaugural launch of his presidential campaign in Kaduna City.
The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Ahmad Maiyaki, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna on Tuesday.
Maiyaki said Governor Uba Sani had constituted a 12-subcommittee local organising committee to support the Presidential Campaign Council in preparing for the event.
He said the committee, chaired by the Deputy Governor, comprises key political stakeholders and prominent indigenes tasked with ensuring a hitch-free campaign launch.
According to him, the upgraded Township Stadium will host the event, while Murtala Square has been designated as the parking area.
He added that arrangements had been made for emergency medical services, media accreditation, traffic management and crowd control.
Maiyaki said the campaign would provide an opportunity for Kaduna residents to acknowledge what he described as Tinubu’s contributions to the state’s development.
He cited the rehabilitation of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano dual carriageway and the proposed N1 trillion Kaduna light rail project among the Federal Government’s major interventions in the state.
Other projects, he said, included the Kaduna-Kano-Daura-Maradi rail project, the establishment and upgrading of tertiary institutions, and the conversion of Kaduna Polytechnic into a federal university focused on technology and vocational studies.

The commissioner said Federal Government support for vocational training had complemented the state’s skills development initiatives.
He disclosed that the state’s skills acquisition centres had trained more than 4,000 people and were designed to train about 32,000 people annually.
On security, Maiyaki said improved collaboration between the Federal Government and the state had enhanced movement along major routes and allowed farmers to return to their farms.
He also cited the appointment of Kaduna indigenes to key federal positions as evidence of the cordial relationship between the Tinubu and Uba Sani administrations.
Maiyaki assured that the state government was committed to ensuring a successful campaign launch while minimising disruption to residents’ daily activities.
