At least 15 people have lost their lives following a horrific lone accident involving a Toyota Hiace bus along the Lokoja–Okene road in the early hours of Friday.
The vehicle, bearing a Plateau State registration number, reportedly crashed under circumstances that are yet to be officially determined.
Eyewitnesses said the impact of the accident was devastating, with emergency responders and motorists rushing to the scene to assist victims.
One of the eyewitnesses who stopped to help described the incident as “a terrible and heartbreaking sight,” noting that several passengers died on the spot.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement regarding the identities of the deceased or the exact cause of the crash.
Investigations into the fatal accident are currently ongoing, while further details are expected to emerge in the coming hours.
