Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has successfully reunited seven children from Bauchi State with their parents.Â
The joyful occasion was highlighted in a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
Governor Yusuf, deeply moved by the commendable efforts of Kano State Police Command, led by CP Muhammad Hussain Gumel, expressed gratitude for their effective leadership.
He was particularly disturbed by the discovery that the children had been abducted from Bauchi, trafficked, and sold in Anambra and Lagos states.
Expressing shock at the existence of a criminal syndicate specializing in the abduction, trafficking, and sale of children from Northern states, Yusuf urged parents to stay vigilant in ensuring the well-being of their children.
The governor called on the Bauchi State governor to take decisive legal action against the arrested suspects, citing a similar case involving 11 Kano children abducted and sold in Anambra a few years ago.
Malam Saad, a parent from Bauchi, conveyed his deep gratitude to Governor Yusuf and the Kano State Commissioner of Police, unable to fully express his appreciation.
Nine suspects, apprehended by the Kano Police Command along with the stolen children at Mariri motor park in Kano en route to Lagos, were presented to the public.
Sha’awanatu Yusuf, the Director of Public Prosecution at the Bauchi State Ministry of Justice, emphasized the unity of Kano and Bauchi for the greater good.
She assured that the Bauchi State government would take legal steps to ensure the suspects face justice.
Governor Yusuf showcased his benevolence through a noteworthy act of philanthropy, generously contributing the sum of N500,000 to each of the seven children who successfully recovered.
This demonstration of compassion and generosity underscores his commitment to the well-being and support of those who have overcome challenging circumstances.
The substantial monetary donation serves as a tangible expression of Governor Yusuf’s dedication to fostering a positive impact on the lives of these recovered children, reflecting his sincere concern for their welfare and future prospects.
