Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has climbed to the status of the world’s second richest individual as his net worth grows to $372 billion after gaining $122 billion in 2026.
According to Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Bezos’ wealth grew by 48.7 percent in the past year on the back of a $7.31 billion jump in the latest valuation.
The 62 year old billionaire is now placed second after Elon Musk who is estimated to be worth $1.02 trillion, but edges out Alphabet co founder Larry Page.
The News Chronicle reports that the jump in Bezos’ riches has been attributed to the soaring value of his space exploration company, Blue Origin, as well as his investments in Amazon and artificial intelligence.
