English Premier League club Fulham FC, home to Super Eagles players Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey, has announced the appointment of Fernando Ferreira as the new Men’s First Team Goalkeeping Coach.
This follows Hugo Oliveira’s decision to return to Portugal to pursue a management opportunity.
In an official statement, the club said:
“The Club can confirm the appointment of Fernando Ferreira as Men’s First Team Goalkeeping Coach, following Hugo Oliveira’s request to return to Portugal to take up a management opportunity there.”
Oliveira, who joined Fulham as part of Marco Silva’s backroom staff, had previously worked with Silva at Hull City, Watford, and Everton. Over the past three-and-a-half years, Oliveira contributed significantly to the team’s success, and the club wished him well in his new endeavor.
Fernando Ferreira joins Fulham with a wealth of experience, having held similar roles at Sporting Clube de Portugal, Real Sport Clube, and most recently, Benfica.
